AV Aureus, 7.40g. 20mm. Rome, 148-149 A.D. ANTONINVS AVG PIVS P P TR P XII. Bare head of Pius to right. Rev. COS IIII. Aequitas standing to left holding scales and cornucopia. RIC 177a. BMC 646. Calico 1498. Hess-Leu, Lucerne, Auction 49, 1971, lot 370(dies). Elegant portrait struck in high relief; the reverse is also of fine style and in high relief; lovely surfaces with full luster.

Alexandria, Antoninus Pius, Rv. Aries, ex: Dattari

AE Drachm, 27.76g.  34mm. Dated year 8= 144/145 A.D.  Zodiac series, Mars in Aries.  Laureate head of Antoninus Pius to right.  Rev. Ram leaping to right with head reverted; helmeted and cuirassed bust of Ares(Mars) and star above.  Dattari 2958(this coin). Geissen 1898. Fine brown patina.   Rare and among the finest known examples.  This coin was photographed in the 1901 edition of the Dattari collection to illustrate the Zodiac type; very few coins were illustrated from the massive collection in the original edition to illustrate the types.

Personification of Asia standing to left wearing a mural crown; she holds wreath in right hand and a long anchor with left hand; prow of ship below to left. BMC 1184. RIC 579. Cohen 65(40 Fr). Scarce reverse type and with a lovely reddish-brown patina.
