AR Diobol, 1.12g. 10mm.  c.398-365 B.C. Facing lion's scalp.   Rev.  Prow of ship (Samaina) to right.   Barron, pl. XXII, 1. Weber 6307.    The Samaina is a bireme ship designed and employed by Samos that is distinguished by an upturned ram in the shape of a boar's head, abbreviated here.   

Rare with lovely toning and among the best known examples.

BMC 6(reverse only illustrated; same dies).  SNG Levante_.  Ziegler 74.  Attractive brown patina; spectacular qualtiy and among the finest known.
