All items are unconditionally guaranteed to be genuine. Coins purchased by internet/mail may be returned for any reason up to 10 days after receipt. Any coins that have been cleaned, damaged, or altered by the purchaser are not returnable. Books and coin cases/trays are non-returnable except for damage. All sales are for cash payable in U.S. dollars. Bank wire information is available for payment upon request.

As items are generally one of a kind, it is recommended that they be reserved by telephone. Coins reserved by telephone will be held 7 days pending receipt of payment. Please include alternate selections where possible on all mail orders.

All check and credit card orders from persons unknown to the firm must clear appropriate banks before the coins will be mailed. Out of state personal checks require about 5 days clearance.

Visa, Master Card and American Express Accepted: Please provide number, full name as it appears on the card, expiration date, security code, and card billing address. Merchandise can only be sent to the verifiable billing address.

Mailing Fees

In order to keep everyone safe and away from lines at the post office, all of our coin and Abafil shipments will be sent by Fedex or UPS at rates not exceeding the usual ones for mail for shipment within the Continental USA.

We are also happy to store any purchases with full insurance coverage in our secure vault for a future delivery of your choosing.

For coin orders: Coins are shipped via insured US Postal Service or Federal Express.

Shipping charges on Invoices over $10,000 will be covered by Edward J. Waddell, Ltd. Packages of mulitple coins that exceed usual weight standards will be charged appropriate additional charges.
Federal Express priority shipping is also available at a fee of $65.00 within the Continental USA.

Overseas orders: Orders for $650 or less will be shipped via Priority Mail (where available) for $85. Orders above $650 will be shipped via FedEx for $140. International purchasers are responsible for all local duties, tax, customs and other fees. For shipments to some countries, we cannot provide insurance coverage or have additional limitations; we will advise if this is the case with your order. Some coins that fall under US import controls may not be exportable. We will inform you if this is the case.

For book orders: please include $10.00 for the 1st volume and $1.00 for each additional volume, except where noted, for orders within the Continental U.S. Oversized books, sets, and those of high value are shipped at appropriate higher postage amounts. Book orders are generally shipped via UPS Ground and require a street address for processing. Shipments via faster UPS services are available at appropriate, higher rates. Orders outside the USA or Alaska/Hawaii are shipped via Insured Airmail at appropriate fees.
Books are non-returnable except for damage in shipment or defects when received.

Personal Data Collection and Retention

When you contact us to initiate business or place an order on our website, we of necessity will collect your name, address, phone and/or fax number, and email address. We will also collect any additionally provided business addresses, emails, or contact numbers. This information is retained by us to facilitate business on our local computers, local backup systems, and paper records. We will delete this information upon your request. However, in cases where an invoice or purchase had been completed, the information will be retained as long as required by US law for tax purposes or for any other legal reasons.

Credit Card Data and Retention:

When you place an order with us via our website or otherwise provide us credit card information for a purchase, we only retain the credit card information as long as necessary for processing the purchase. Upon completion of processing, the credit card data is deleted from our paper records as well as our computers and server. Credit card data is not backed up by us or our server hosting company. The credit card information is processed by Bank of America and/or their affiliated companies, so they would of necessity have copies of the information.


We use session only cookies when you place orders or browse our web site. These cookies expire once you close out your session. We do not track your movements on the web with cookies.

Security of Data:

When you enter personal or credit card data onto our website, that data is encrypted and protected by Secure Socket Layer technology (SSL)

Names, addresses, and contact information are stored on our local computers, local backups, and in paper files at our office in Frederick, MD.

Use and Disclosure of Personal Data:

The data that we collect is used only for our internal purposes of processing your orders and for being in touch with you. We protect this information to the best of our ability and do not provide it to outside parties except in the following circumstances:

A duly authorized request by a legitimate government or law enforcement authority.

With proper identification, you may update your data at any time with us or request us to delete your data to the extent legally possible.

Bulk emails:

We only send bulk emails with updates and business announcements to those clients who have requested to be placed on our email list. All bulk emails have a unsubscribe button at the bottom of the email which will immediately remove you from or automatic email list.

Data Removal:

Upon request, we will delete all data permitted by US laws and not involved in any legal proceedings. You may contact us by email, phone, or mail to our address.
