Mule-race

Messana, AR Tetradrachm, 17.31g.  25mm.   c.425-421 B.C. Charioteer driving biga of mules to right; nike crowns the lead mule with a ribbon; two dolphins in exergue.  Rev. Hare leaping to right; dolphin below to right.  Caltabiano 495(dies).   Exceptionally well centered and struck from fresh dies.  Lightly toned.
