AE 32. 23.89g. 32 mm. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Gordian to right. Rv. Two victories inscribing shield SR on palm tree; two captives below. SNG BN 1236. Brown patina.

Marcus Aurelius, 161-180 A.D.

AE Sestertius, 25.67g. 33mm. 166 A.D. M AVREL ANOTNINVS AVG GERM. Laureate head of the emperor to right. Rev. TR POT XX IMP IIII COS III S C. Victory inscribing shield VIC PAR on palm tree. RIC 931. Lovely green patina.

The portrait very strongly resembles that of Lucius Verus, but with the legend for Aurelius. Perhaps there was a mixup at the mint with coins for both rulers being produced at this time.

AE Medium Bronze, 9.73g. 24.5mm.  Hebrew inscription, " Year two of the freedom of Israel." Vine leaf.  Rev. Hebrew inscription, "Simon."  Palm tree with date bunches.   Mildenberg 91.  Hendin 6436.  Natural brown patina; traces of the understypes.
