New Add to Cart Petillius Capitolinus, c.41 B.C.
AR Denarius, 3.87g. 19mm. PETILLIVS CAPITOLINVS. Eagle standing to right on a thunderbolt. Rev. Capitoline temple with 6 columns, decorated roof, and hanging fillets. CR 487/2a. Syd. 1150. Sear, Imperators 174. Exceptionally sharp and complete. Lustrous with light toning. The original Capitoline temple to Jupiter with four columns burned in 83 B.C. and was rebuilt in 69 B.C.
